This week, at SafeHope Home, we are celebrating a fellow participant as well as my own Graduation from the stage one programming offered here at the house. This journey has definitely been long but I am so grateful to have done it. I am honoured to be graduating alongside one of my peers who has become like a sister to me.
SafeHope Home’s programming consists of classes such as Fears, Feelings, Boundaries, and so on. I can honestly say that I was not the person I am today before participating in these courses. Graduating is bittersweet for me. Although I am so excited to start this new chapter in my life, I will miss being able to work so closely with my peers on making a brighter future for ourselves. I’ve never experienced anything quite like the programming here.
Due to the fact that this is a graduation post, I feel like I owe some thankyous. I want to say thank you to all of the program facilitators who guided me through all the program work, thank you to all the staff members who work in the home who were there to talk to when my emotions felt like too much, and thank you to all the participants that I’ve worked alongside for making this a positive learning experience.
We all move forward when we recognize how resilient and striking the women around us are.
