Christmas at SafeHope Home

This is my second Christmas here at SafeHope Home over the last week; We watched Christmas movies, had a pyjama day, and made some really cool crafts. Before I came to SafeHope Home I hadn’t had the opportunity to celebrate the holidays in a really long time, instead of thinking of Christmas as a happy time I often characterized it as being the most lonely time of the year. I am so blessed to be a part of Christmas at SafeHope Home. They really do make us feel special. Because I understand that there are many other people who struggle through the holidays I will be saying an extra prayer for individuals who are less fortunate than I am on Christmas morning and I encourage others to do the same.

Although the pandemic has impacted our Christmas a little here spirits are still high, I personally am very excited to sleep in over Christmas break. There are always things to be grateful for, this Christmas I am personally grateful for; my recovery, the staff and participants here at the house, and the good food that I know we will be enjoying here.

I hope that everyone reading this blog post has a safe and happy holiday season, talk to you next year.

Ciao For Now

Ricky
